Geography examines spatial distributions and natural processes across Earth's landscapes, along with how human societies interact with their environments. Our Geography curriculum covers both physical geography - analyzing terrestrial, aquatic and atmospheric systems - and human geography, which investigates cultural, political and economic factors influencing human settlement patterns.
During your initial two years, you'll establish core competencies across diverse geographical topics, exploring: Global population distributions and activity locations. Causes and timing of environmental transformations. Effects of these changes on both natural systems and human communities. Potential adaptation and mitigation strategies. In your upper years, you can concentrate on specialized fields such as: Climate dynamics, Glacial systems, Pedology, Environmental preservation, Disaster studies, Hydrological resources, or Cultural geography. Our program encompasses the full scope of geographical science, incorporating technical skills like digital mapping, satellite imagery interpretation, environmental sampling, and geospatial analysis (GIS). Field-based learning opportunities include regional camps and an optional international field research course available in your final year.
