Engineering is typically linked to solving real-world challenges through analytical approaches that utilize mathematics, science, and problem-solving abilities. At Lakehead, we emphasize that engineers should also have strong communication skills and grasp the business, legal, and social factors influencing the creation of technological products and processes needed in today's global economy. As a mechanical engineer, you'll be involved in designing, simulating, producing, assembling, and testing diverse systems, including engines, turbines, industrial machinery, material handling equipment, robotics, and various mechanical devices.
Mechanical engineers work across multiple industries like power generation, transportation, and renewable energy, applying engineering principles to address complex societal challenges. Our Mechanical Engineering program holds accreditation from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). We provide multiple entry pathways into our Bachelor of Engineering programs to suit students at different educational stages.
