The academic and professional exploration of History involves reviving the past through scholarly inquiry. This field covers every dimension of human existence, from global conflicts to pop culture trends, and continuously transforms as our understanding and viewpoints progress. As a History student, you'll enjoy the freedom to follow your personal passions within the discipline while benefiting from close mentorship opportunities thanks to our intimate class settings. Our curriculum offers diverse methodologies for historical investigation and equips you with critical tools to assess any subject through a historical lens. You'll explore historical themes across North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and South Asia, including: Indigenous Studies, Digital Archives, Ecological History, Gender Studies, Global Development, Governance History, Healthcare History, Conflict Studies, and Cultural History.
You can opt to pair your History degree with programs in English, French, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Gender Studies, Ecotourism, Park Management, or Teacher Education. Pursuing a double major enables you to connect historical insights to specific fields and concentrate your academic journey from the outset. Additional certificate programs are offered. Students may also select specialized tracks in Community History or War Studies as part of their History degree.

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD),
or Completion of Grade 12 and the Secondary School Diploma,
A minimum of 6 Grade 12U or M courses, or equivalent, including program specific prerequisite courses,
A minimum 70%* overall final average
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme applicants who achieve their diploma with a total score of at least 24 may be eligible for admission. Three Higher Level subjects must be completed. Prerequisite courses can be presented at either Standard Level or Higher Level. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Some of our competitive programs may require a total score greater than 24.
Successful graduation from an academic secondary school program or equivalent (For most countries, the same academic preparation as is required for university entrance in that country is required for consideration. Refer to Admission Requirements by Country.)
