Geography examines spatial distributions and Earth's surface processes, along with how societies interact with their surroundings. Our Geography curriculum covers both physical geography—analyzing landforms, water systems, and atmospheric conditions—and human geography, which investigates cultural, political, and economic influences on human settlement patterns.
During your initial two years, you'll develop a broad understanding of geographic principles, exploring: The global distribution of populations and activities. The causes and timing of environmental transformations. How these changes affect both natural systems and human communities. Potential adaptation strategies. In your upper years, you can focus on specialized fields such as: Climate dynamics, Glacial systems, Pedology, Environmental preservation, Disaster studies, Hydrological resources, or Cultural landscapes. Our program showcases the diversity of geographic inquiry, incorporating technical skills like digital mapping, satellite imagery interpretation, environmental sampling, and GIS applications. Fieldwork opportunities include local research stations and an optional international field course during your senior year.
