The Advanced VFX (Virtual Production) program is an intensive two-year, full-time cohort experience that builds core Visual Effects skills while incorporating cutting-edge Virtual Production techniques. Throughout the curriculum, learners explore multiple VFX disciplines including 3D modeling, digital sculpting, texture creation, lighting design, visual compositing, and special effects. The program uniquely blends traditional VFX education with modern virtual production methodologies, teaching emerging industry practices. Participants utilize virtual production tools to create, adjust, and capture VFX elements directly through in-camera techniques. By simulating professional virtual production environments with real-time rendering demands, the program prepares artists to excel both creatively and technically in fast-paced collaborative settings that require rapid problem-solving. Foundational studies cover cinematography principles, data capture techniques, motion tracking, photographic concepts, and real-world lighting before transitioning to digital 3D environments. Advanced coursework introduces 3D matte painting as a fusion of 2D and 3D imagery for set expansion, applicable to both conventional VFX and virtual production pipelines. Students learn scripting fundamentals across industry-standard platforms like Unreal Engine, Nuke, and Houdini to enhance workflow efficiency. The curriculum also emphasizes pre-production planning, post-production processes, constructive critique methods, realistic timeline management, and essential teamwork skills. Students develop professional competencies for collaborating across various VFX departments in both on-set and studio environments.

Participants gain hands-on experience with professional-grade software, tools, and production pipelines for both traditional and virtual production VFX work. Each student develops a professional portfolio showcasing VFX work through a demo reel, which may feature individual projects or collaborative team efforts.

This program is ideal for students demonstrating strong artistic aptitude or creative potential. While beneficial, prior technical or software experience isn't mandatory as these skills are developed throughout the program. The acquired artistic, creative, and technical competencies prepare graduates for demanding positions across the visual effects industry.
