This 21-week course trains students to become plumber apprentices. Participants will cultivate essential skills in safety practices, managing time and materials, and using hand and power tools. Hands-on shop projects help students improve their abilities in installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems for water supply and drainage in homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.
Graduates of the Foundation program qualify for SkilledTradesBC credit toward Plumber Level 1 apprenticeship and receive 375 work experience hours.
Foundation programs develop in-demand skills that employers value. To advance as an apprentice, you must secure an employer sponsor and register with SkilledTradesBC. For further career growth, KPU offers in-school technical training for Plumbing Apprentice levels 2 through 4 when you're prepared to progress.
