This 30-week course equips students with the essential skills to begin an apprenticeship as an Automotive Service Technician. Through hands-on training in a real-world auto repair shop at the Cloverdale campus, participants will gain expertise in vehicle maintenance, including shop safety protocols, system inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components in cars and light trucks.
Upon completing the Foundation program, students will take the Auto Service Technician Level 1 Certificate of Qualification (COQ) examination. Successful graduates earn credit toward their Level 1 apprenticeship and receive recognition for 450 hours of work-based training.
High School: A graduate of a BC secondary school or an equivalent school system.
The English proficiency requirement for vocational studies varies by program.
