The Bachelor of Arts with a Psychology major offers a comprehensive study of fundamental psychological disciplines, covering biological, cognitive, developmental, social-personality, and clinical-health psychology. As KPU's premier Psychology program, this BA provides adaptable coursework that enables students to investigate diverse psychological topics alongside other social sciences and humanities subjects. The program's adaptable structure encourages students to collaborate with advisors, professors, and classmates to customize their academic focus. It prioritizes developing versatile competencies such as analytical reasoning, investigative methods, written communication, teamwork, and public speaking. Additionally, participants can opt for a professional practicum arranged by KPU, with joint oversight from faculty and industry professionals.
Students aiming for advanced education or desiring deeper research involvement can enhance their expertise through the Psychology Honours program. This specialized track allows undergraduates to design and document a research initiative with personalized guidance from a Psychology Department faculty member.
You have graduated high school (secondary school) OR completed 24+ credits of undergraduate-level credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
English Proficiency Requirements
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test: overall band of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum 6.0 in each band, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): IBT 88 or higher, with no sub score less than 20, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Score of 70 or higher with no sub score less than 60, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Pearson Test of English (PTE): Score of 61 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Language Proficiency Index (LPI): Level 5 with an essay score of 30 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission.
