Students can pursue a BA in Catholic Studies for teachers, with the option to combine it with another major of their choice while securing guaranteed admission to Western’s Faculty of Education for their Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree. This program prepares individuals for teaching roles within the Catholic school system, offering Junior Intermediate or Intermediate Senior specialization tracks in the BEd program.

During Years 2, 3, and 4 of the BA (Honors) or four-year BA, students take Religious Studies courses focused on Catholic education, covering topics like Scriptures, Catholic symbols, moral traditions, religious issues, as well as studies in Judaism, Islam, and Eastern Traditions. Additionally, they enroll in service learning courses that place them in Catholic schools to support teachers in classrooms and contribute to other school areas (such as libraries or special education), gaining a comprehensive understanding of the institution and its culture. Before placements, students undergo thorough orientation and maintain regular check-ins with the program coordinator throughout their school involvement.
