For those beginning their post-secondary journey, Humber's Media Foundation certificate program provides essential training in digital media, communications, writing, and design, preparing students for advanced studies in Humber's Faculty of Media & Creative Arts.
Students work with current industry-standard software to produce diverse media content while gaining comprehensive exposure to various media industry sectors. Developed in collaboration with industry professionals, the program features instructors with extensive industry networks and expertise, offering students practical knowledge about media industry trends and practices.
The curriculum, shaped by industry input, is delivered by experienced faculty who provide real-world perspectives on media industry dynamics. During the first semester, students build crucial academic skills while exploring visual literacy, film studies, media communications, and digital design. In the final semester, students deepen their theoretical understanding by selecting five electives from options including Special Projects, Video Production, Script Writing, Audio and Video Editing, Television Studio Production, Image Capture, and Design for Media 2.
