Humber's Advertising and Marketing Communications diploma prepares you with essential skills in promotional writing, presentations, organization, introductory design, production fundamentals, and supplier management. Through courses covering advertising, marketing communications, PR, and project coordination, you'll gain insight into diverse career paths.
The program emphasizes developing skills to collaborate with advertising professionals like copywriters, designers, art directors, and media planners. Hands-on experience with Humber's in-house agency, BuildingF, lets you establish industry connections while tackling real client projects. Your initial semester is common with other diploma programs including Advertising and Graphic Design, Journalism, PR, and Media Communications, offering flexibility to adjust your academic focus in subsequent terms.
To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
Three Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above
or
Mature student status
or
College or university transfer status
CAEL Online or In-Person: Overall band score of 60; Cambridge English Tests Minimum FCE/CAE/CPE Score -> Minimum B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency Score: B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 169 (with no single subscore below 162) ; Duolingo Language Test+: 105 and above+ ; IELTS Academic Level: Overall 6.0 AND No band below 5.5; MET: 56; PTE: 53 - 57; TOEFL Academic Level: 550 for paper-based test OR 80 (20L, 20W, 20S, 20R) for internet-based test
