Power engineers oversee the secure and optimal functioning of boilers, turbines, and refrigeration/air conditioning systems in commercial or industrial settings.
Your mathematical and physics expertise will combine with mechanical and technical skills to launch your career as a 4th Level power engineer. The program teaches equipment troubleshooting and repair techniques. Curriculum covers Mathematics, Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Plant Services, Prime Movers, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Electrical Systems, and Plant Safety.
The 4th Class Power Engineering program provides hands-on experience in an operational power lab and thermal generating plant simulator, both available on-site. These facilities allow students to practice solving real-world equipment challenges they'll face professionally.
This intensive program caters to beginners in the field. Through in-person instruction, students earn their Holland College Power Engineer certification before taking the PEI Provincial Exam for professional licensing.
With accumulated work experience and additional training, graduates can advance their certification level through provincial accreditation procedures.
