This liberal arts curriculum allows learners to examine diverse topics across humanities and social science disciplines. Participants enhance their analytical capabilities and critical reasoning while broadening their global perspectives. The curriculum creates opportunities and establishes foundations for advanced education at colleges or universities. After earning the two-year diploma, graduates qualify for university transfer agreements that provide substantial credit recognition. Through liberal arts education, students build academic confidence while acquiring vital workplace competencies. Although many learners pursue General Arts and Science as preparation for higher education, some alumni secure positions in fields valuing liberal arts backgrounds or with employers who conduct specialized training. Multiple Ontario universities acknowledge this program's diploma. Course offerings maximize credit transfers to various college and university programs.
Applicants must hold OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U).
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing.
