The Dental Office Administration program provides training in both administrative abilities and clinical understanding required for efficient work in dental practices. You'll gain extensive practical experience through off-site placements with dental partners, ensuring you're job-ready after completing the program. This one-year certificate program (S115) prepares students with essential office administration skills and clinical knowledge for success in dental practice settings.
The curriculum covers key dental office operations including:
creating and managing patient records
inventory management systems
patient recall systems
scheduling appointments
dental insurance processing
financial record-keeping
computer skills (with dental-specific software)
oral and facial anatomy
dental terminology
fundamental clinical dentistry concepts
Have graduated from senior secondary school or equivalent (those applying for a postgraduate program must have graduated from a university or college)
Be 17 years of age or older at the time of registration
Applicants with transcripts from an institution where the language of instruction is not English may meet English language proficiency requirements with one of the following proofs of language proficiency.
