The Recreation and Leisure Services program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma that cultivates leadership abilities to enhance recreational experiences across diverse communities. This program teaches interpersonal skills essential for designing, coordinating, and delivering various recreational activities in multiple settings.
Through the Recreation and Leisure Services curriculum, you can transform your passion for people and activities into boundless career opportunities. The program equips you with expertise to create, execute, and assess recreational programs suitable for all ages and abilities. During two years of study, you'll explore leadership psychology, team dynamics, event coordination, outdoor activities, experiential learning, and inclusive programming through therapeutic recreation. The curriculum also covers the management of parks and recreational facilities.
Practical learning extends beyond the classroom through hands-on placements with organizations like the YMCA, City of London, St. Joseph Health Care, McCormick Care, Western Fair District, London Knights Hockey Club, and London Children's Museum.
This program focuses on nurturing leadership qualities in students to facilitate recreational achievements for individuals, groups, and communities. Combining academic study with practical experience over two years, students gain the expertise to foster community engagement, organize special events, and manage programs across various recreational sectors. The training emphasizes creating, delivering, and assessing programs that meet diverse community needs. Graduates will be skilled in developing benefit-focused programming that positions recreation as a vital service capable of addressing both individual and community requirements.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant with the following course: - Grade 12 English (C or U). Students who do not meet the admission requirements are recommended for academic upgrading. A conditional offer may be possible with proof of enrolment. Alternatively, applicants may choose to do the one-year Human Services Foundation preparatory program. Graduates who have a final cumulative GPA of 2.0 will meet all the admissions requirements for this program.
 
English Language requirement- TOEFL iBT – 79, IELTS Academic - Overall score of 6.0 with no score less than 5.5 in any of the four bands. CAEL - Overall score of 60 with no score less than 50 in any of the four bands. score of 80 in listening. PTE Academic 53. Cambridge English    Overall score of 169 with no language skill less than 162.
