This finance program equips students with essential skills for careers in the expanding personal financial services industry, covering areas from client relations to investment strategies and financial advising. Upon completion, graduates meet all educational prerequisites for obtaining both the QAFP™ (Qualified Associate Financial Planner™) and PFP® (Personal Financial Planner®) certifications. The curriculum also prepares students to take the Canadian Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program exams, which are required for securities and insurance licensing. Additionally, participants will finish the Mutual Funds Licensing course.
Students have opportunities to pursue degree completion at various colleges and universities or enhance their diploma with a graduate certificate from the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business.
Fanshawe's Business – Finance graduates are ready to launch careers across multiple financial service sectors, including banking, credit services, investment management, insurance, and financial consulting. The program prepares graduates for entry-level roles with potential advancement into positions like sales associate, client service representative, insurance consultant, investment specialist, financial advisor, or retirement planning expert.
OSSD with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (M), or Open (O) stream WITH: Any Grade 12 English (C) or (U), Mathematics ONE OF: Any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U); Any Grade 11 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M) (Note: a minimum final grade of 60 required for any Grade 11 Mathematics course) OR Academic and Career Entrance Certificate (ACE) OR Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) AND: Mathematics ONE OF: Any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U); Any Grade 11 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M) (Note: a minimum final grade of 60 required for any Grade 11 Mathematics course) OR Mature Applicant with standing in the required courses and grade stated above.
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English by one of the following methods:
