This two-year, immersive diploma program puts you behind the camera to create diverse film and television content, from narrative films and documentaries to live sports, news segments, commercials, and promotional videos. You'll develop skills in writing, producing, shooting, and editing video projects that may air regionally or screen at film festivals. Industry experts will mentor you throughout the program, with opportunities to apply your learning through real-world field placements.
Upon graduation, you'll have built a comprehensive portfolio showcasing expertise across all aspects of video production - from studio and cinematic production to field work, mobile sports coverage, computer graphics, post-production editing, scriptwriting, and the business side of marketing and entrepreneurship.
For those considering advanced studies, Western University and Fanshawe College offer a pathway agreement allowing students to earn both a Broadcasting - Television and Film Production diploma and an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT). You can begin at Fanshawe, transfer into MIT's third year, and complete both programs in just four years.
If you're passionate about television and film production and want hands-on experience in one of Canada's most advanced media facilities, the Broadcasting - Television and Film Production program at Fanshawe is your ideal starting point.
