This two-year diploma program offers comprehensive radio training that prepares you for diverse career paths, extending beyond traditional broadcasting to include new media opportunities. Our program was honored with the 2019 President’s Distinguished Achievement Program award.
The Broadcasting - Radio and Media Production curriculum provides intensive practical training for careers in radio and evolving media platforms. Key subjects cover On-Air Presentation, Scriptwriting, Audio and Ad Production, Sales/Marketing/Promotions, Music Programming, and Digital Content Creation. Training occurs in a live broadcast setting where students gain real-world experience mirroring industry operations.
Participants should expect extended studio hours and potential travel for field placements. Additionally, students will rotate through shifts at Radio Fanshawe Inc., including holiday and weekend assignments.
For those pursuing advanced education, our articulation agreement with Western University allows you to earn both a Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT) Honors Degree and your Broadcasting diploma in just four years, beginning at Fanshawe before transferring to third-year MIT studies.
While we emphasize radio industry preparedness, the acquired skills have broad applications across multiple sectors.
