The Court Support Services program equips you with essential competencies for diverse court service positions across all tiers of the provincial judiciary. Your educational path concludes with a 120-hour practicum, offering immersive, real-world exposure to Ontario's legal proceedings.
This curriculum prepares graduates with targeted expertise for court support and client service roles within Ontario's judicial system, while incorporating specialized training in evidence documentation and interactive simulations that emphasize professional conduct in courtroom settings.
Program completers will find promising career prospects in this field or may pursue additional legal studies through the School of Public Safety to broaden their qualifications.
Graduates emerge ready for multiple courtroom careers and related positions within Ontario's judicial framework. Industry professionals have developed the curriculum to incorporate contemporary skills that align with current hiring demands. The program exposes students to operations in both Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice, covering diverse legal domains including Criminal, Family, Civil, and Provincial Offenses.
The coursework features training on modern court technologies including Liberty Court Recording, FTR, and CaseLines. Students experience a balanced schedule of classroom instruction and practical labs, supplemented by live court observations. The program also develops vital professional attributes such as judicial etiquette, effective communication, professional standards, and foundational legal understanding.
Students must have,
English 12C or 12U
And one of the following:
Math 12U, 11U or 11M
Math for College Technology 12C
Foundations for College Mathematics 12C or 11C
Minimum final grade required is 65 for English 12C and Foundation for college Mathematics 11C and 12C.
