The three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Respiratory Therapy provides comprehensive training in cardiopulmonary anatomy, chemistry, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and related theories. Students gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge clinical laboratories under the guidance of industry professionals. Upon completion, graduates will be qualified to conduct various diagnostic assessments including pulmonary function tests, cardiac stress evaluations, and sleep studies.
From day one, you'll develop practical skills to administer diagnostic procedures like pulmonary function analyses, cardiac stress tests, and sleep assessments. The program features modern clinical facilities equipped with advanced technology, where you'll learn directly from field specialists. In your final year, you'll complete a clinical internship while studying a nationally recognized curriculum that prepares you for immediate professional practice in Ontario, across Canada, or internationally. The program adheres to standards set by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO), Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CRST), and National Alliance of Respiratory Therapy Regulatory Bodies (NARTRB), maintaining national accreditation through Accreditation Canada. Expert faculty and clinical instructors equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for entry-level practice in Ontario and beyond.
Program graduates must successfully complete a national certification examination to apply for licensure with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario or other Canadian regulatory bodies, depending on their intended practice location.
