The General Arts and Science - 1 Year (English Language Studies) program offers a full-time English for Academic Purposes (EAP) curriculum, serving as a direct pathway from language learning to post-secondary education (both college and university) without requiring additional language proficiency tests.
This EAP program consists of 10 intensive eight-week levels (equivalent to two EAP levels per semester), with seven weeks dedicated to rigorous academic English training covering grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and pronunciation. The eighth week features hands-on learning experiences such as workshops, field trips, and events to apply acquired skills. Students must attain at least a 70% grade to progress to the next level. Through this program, you will:
Receive instruction from expert faculty;
Develop robust academic English capabilities;
Begin at an appropriate skill level;
Gain insights into succeeding in Canadian academic settings;
Chart your future educational journey.

Regular practice is key to mastering English. Fanshawe facilitates engaging social activities for students to practice conversational English throughout each program level. Beyond coursework, participants are urged to explore volunteer and leadership development opportunities.
