Basic self-care routines like hygiene, movement, meal preparation, and medication management are everyday activities many don't think twice about, yet numerous individuals require assistance with these fundamental tasks. Personal support workers (PSWs) serve as primary caregivers, specializing in delivering personalized assistance that encompasses daily living activities for clients in various institutional, community, and service environments. These professionals offer empathetic, individualized care to improve and sustain daily quality of life. Our program equips students through expert instructors, an enriched curriculum, specialized certifications, and numerous interprofessional training simulations, ensuring graduates enter the workforce fully prepared. Notably, we achieved a perfect 100% satisfaction rate among recent PSW students and graduates (2018-2019).
The weekend program structure caters to learners seeking adaptable full-time study options with campus-based experiences, eliminating the need for conventional weekday attendance. Theoretical coursework follows a hybrid model blending in-person and live remote sessions, enabling students to balance work commitments while pursuing their education. Weekend labs maintain the same rigorous in-person standards as weekday offerings. This flexible weekend format combines live synchronous sessions with self-paced asynchronous learning, with clinical placements available on both weekdays and weekends.
