The Hearing Instrument Practitioner Diploma equips you with the expertise to enhance the lives of individuals experiencing hearing difficulties. As British Columbia's sole specialized program of this nature, this two-year course trains you in hearing aid fitting, programming, conducting hearing assessments, and advising patients on coping with hearing impairment.
Your learning includes practical experience through three supervised clinical placements, where you'll perform hearing tests and offer guidance to real patients. Upon completion, you'll qualify to pursue the Hearing Instrument Practitioner (HIP) Internship administered by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC) - an essential requirement for achieving Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner (RHIP) status in the province.
