The MIMPA dual degree program is a three-year, full-time curriculum culminating in both a Master of Information (MI) and Master of Public Administration (MPA). To graduate from the MIMPA program, students must complete 27 courses in total: 12 half-credit MI classes (36 credit hours) plus 15 half-credit MPA classes (45 credit hours).

Qualification Requirements

Separate application packages must be submitted to each department. Students who apply for the combined MI/MPA program must meet the admissions standards of both the School of Public Administration and the School of Information Management.

Student must have:

  • Four-year Bachelor‚Äôs degree
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study
  • Degree granted by university of recognized standing

English language proficiency test score:

  • Internet-based TOEFL (Academic iBT): 92
  • Written TOEFL: 580
  • MELAB: 85
  • IELTS: 7
  • CAEL: 70 with no band score lower than 60
  • Dalhousie College of Continuing Education (CCE) : A-
  • Pearson English Test PTE Academic: overall score of 65 and nothing below 54

MI deadline:

MPA deadline:
