The Schulich School of Law fosters a dynamic, tightly connected community where faculty, staff, students, and alumni collaborate closely. Here, we uphold the Weldon Tradition of selfless civic engagement—committed to improving society through meaningful contributions.
The school houses Dalhousie Legal Aid Service, Canada's longest-running legal clinic program. Additionally, we've introduced a Technology and Innovation Law Clinic supporting emerging tech entrepreneurs. Students benefit from hands-on clinical courses, specialized placements, an active pro-bono initiative, and diverse internship opportunities.
Through our Indigenous Blacks & Mi'kmaq (IB&M) program, we work to dismantle systemic barriers by promoting greater representation of Indigenous Nova Scotian Blacks and Mi'kmaq people in law. Launched in 1989, the IB&M Initiative has gained national acclaim as a pioneering model for inclusive legal education.
