The Interdisciplinary PhD program caters to a growing demand from driven, accomplished students seeking research projects that span multiple academic fields. Qualification Requirements

Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree which includes a significant research-based thesis as part of the program. Alternatively you may hold a non-thesis-based Master’s degree and present evidence of substantial independent research experience such as first-authored and peer-reviewed papers in the research literature. Applicants to have an average of least A-. Have a combined GPA of 3.70 or higher taking into account your Master’s degree and undergraduate coursework.

English language requirement:

  • Internet-based TOEFL (Academic iBT): 100
  • MELAB: 85
  • IELTS: 7.5
  • CAEL: 70 with no band score lower than 60
  • Dalhousie College of Continuing Education (CCE): A-
  • Pearson English Test PTE Academic: overall score of 65 and nothing below 54

Deadlines are February 1st for a September start or October 1st for a January or May start.
