The International Food Business program offers a distinctive educational path for students passionate about exploring the worldwide food sector, from production to consumption. This exceptional program at Dalhousie's Faculty of Agriculture in Truro, N.S., enables students to earn dual degrees in just four years: a Bachelor of Business Administration from Aeres University in the Netherlands and a Bachelor of Agriculture in International Food Business from Dalhousie.
In the first year, North American students attend Dalhousie while European students study at Aeres. The second year takes place in the Netherlands, where both cohorts learn and collaborate. This joint study continues in year three at Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus in Truro, N.S. Students return to their home institutions for the final year.

Our forward-thinking curriculum, structured around skill-building modules, equips you with essential competencies for leadership roles in the global food sector. Over the first three years of this four-year degree, ten modules cover critical topics like international supply chain management, consumer trends, and product innovation.
Throughout these modules, you'll tackle increasingly complex real-world business challenges. Expert faculty with international experience will guide you, offering theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry insights to ensure your success.

Qualification Requirements

Students must have

  • Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
  • A minimum overall average of 70% in five academic Grade 12 courses
  • A final grade of at least 70% in Grade 12 academic English and any other required subject.

English language requirement:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 237 (computer-based) 90 (iBT) and no lower than 20 in each band
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - 6.5 overall and no lower than 6.0 in each band
  • Michigan English Test (MELAB) ‚Äì 55
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 61 overall and no lower than 50 in each skill
