Actuaries apply advanced mathematical and statistical skills to address challenges related to risk and unpredictability. This program equips students for actuarial careers in insurance, pension consulting, investment banking, and various financial sectors. Participants in the program: Gain comprehensive training in mathematics, statistics, and probability theory. Master analytical models for financial problem-solving under uncertain conditions. Study computer science, accounting, finance, and economic principles. Adopt a multidisciplinary perspective by incorporating social sciences and humanities into actuarial methodologies.

The Co-op option provides paid internship opportunities with insurance providers and consulting firms as actuarial assistants or analysts. Co-op participants: Acquire proficiency in industry-standard actuarial software for data analysis. Perform calculations for defined benefit plans and generate pension documentation. Hone professional report-writing abilities. Gain practical experience with technical documentation processes

Our curriculum holds provisional accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA). Graduates qualify for exemptions from four preliminary certification exams administered by the Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society. Concordia University holds the prestigious Center of Actuarial Excellence designation from the Society of Actuaries.

One math from Pre-Calculus, Calculus, or equivalent
Two sciences (from Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
ACT or SAT is not required

International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma: 33 overall, 5 HL or 6 SL math, 6 science
One math (Applications and Interpretations HL, Analysis and Approaches HL or SL)
One science SL or HL (Physics, Chemistry or Biology)
Must have at least one HL math or science
British system of education (GCE):
A-levels: At least two A-level exams AB, A in math, A in science or
AS-levels: At least 4 AS-level exams with equivalent results or

Students without math or science A-levels may be admissible based on AS-level or iGCSE/GCSE/O-Level exam results. Students should include all their exam results from iGCSE (or equivalent) onwards to support their application.

Graduation from an accredited high school. Students at American curriculum schools should include a school profile with their admissions application.

IELTS - Score of 7 or higher, no component score under 5.5
TOEFL iBT - Score 90 or higher, with a minimum combined score of 34 for speaking and writing.
Duolingo - DET score of 120 and above with no subscore under 90
