The Art History and Film Studies Major equips students to identify connections between visual artists and filmmakers, while examining shared and distinct aspects of these academic fields. Those pursuing this combined major cultivate a cross-disciplinary grasp of visual and audiovisual arts, alongside the critical theories relevant to each domain. The curriculum prioritizes historical and contextual examinations of art and film through social, cultural, political, and analytical lenses.
Internship opportunities allow students to engage with film production, research, archival projects, editorial work for film publications, or critique writing.
