The Art History major equips students with core understanding of art's historical development while incorporating contemporary theories and methods shaping the field today. Students explore various artistic eras and mediums, enjoying significant flexibility in tailoring their academic journey. Each year, we provide more than 50 undergraduate art history courses, with our curriculum constantly evolving to embrace fresh perspectives on art scholarship.

Starting in sophomore year, students can enroll in advanced seminars that facilitate intimate discussions with professors on specialized subjects. (Recent examples include: Art Theft and Ethics, Modern Craft Practices, Medieval European Sacred Art, and Modernism Through Queer Perspectives). Beyond coursework, museum and gallery internships provide valuable practical experience in the art world.
