Exploring the Irish perspective will ground and broaden your grasp of contemporary global challenges. Ireland's history encompasses colonization, famine, mass emigration, civil conflict, division, and the Troubles. Examining Ireland's past offers valuable insights into current worldwide phenomena like refugee movements, large-scale migration, and population resettlement.

Ireland's influence on global arts through literature, music, and dance stems from a remarkably distinctive cultural heritage.

An Irish Studies degree lets you craft a personalized academic journey, selecting from diverse courses in political science, history, design, music, language, literature, theology, geography, and other disciplines.

The School of Irish Studies provides intimate class settings, potential substantial financial support (including Scholarships and Tuition Remission Awards for eligible students), and opportunities for funded travel to Ireland. As North America's exclusive program of its kind, it offers comprehensive learning about Ireland and the global Irish diaspora. While focusing on Ireland, you'll also examine broader international concerns. Benefit from ample funding at Concordia and for Irish study programs. Become part of a close-knit academic community while engaging with cultural events and activities.
