Shape tomorrow's leaders. Empower individuals to reach their full potential. Studying human relations transforms your passion for people into a catalyst for societal transformation. Mastering interpersonal dynamics in both community and professional settings prepares you for careers focused on helping others. Whether your goal is to strengthen corporate teams or mobilize local communities, our Human Relations program equips you with the skills to emerge as a forward-thinking leader.

Newly enrolled students begin in either the Human Relations Major or Specialization program. Concentration selection occurs after successfully completing AHSC 270 (Introduction to Human Relations Theory and Research) during the first semester. This foundational course provides comprehensive insight into the various systems that form the basis of our concentration options. Students can later transfer to their chosen concentration through our department's internal transfer process.

We offer four specialized concentrations: Individual & Small Group Processes (available as major or specialization), Community Development (major or specialization), Organization Development and Change (major or specialization), and Family Science (specialization only).

Organization Development and Change
In our rapidly evolving world, workplaces across all sectors - public, private, and nonprofit - are undergoing significant transformation. Our ODC concentration trains you to guide this workplace evolution effectively. This discipline combines relational and analytical approaches to assess organizational challenges, then designs and implements strategic interventions for meaningful change. Grounded in extensive behavioral science research and practical expertise, you'll develop the ability to help organizations navigate and resolve complex operational challenges.
