Canada's pioneering Creative Writing program engages you in all facets of the writing process, from initial concept development to final publication. As a student, you'll examine literature through a writer's lens while refining your skills under the mentorship of established authors and peers.
Through workshops in fiction, poetry, or playwriting, you'll discover your unique style and themes. The program enhances core studies with exclusive masterclasses led by globally celebrated writers during Concordia's Writers Read series, which has featured luminaries like Julian Barnes, Dionne Brand, CAConrad, Roxane Gay, Renee Gladman, Jorie Graham, Ben Lerner, Daniel David Moses, Fred Moten, Claudia Rankine, George Saunders, A.E. Stallings, and Colm Tibn.
Montreal's thriving English literary community provides a platform for both emerging and professional writers. Our program equips you with essential skills for careers in writing, editing, or publishing across traditional and digital media. The Honours in English and Creative Writing serves as a foundation for advanced literary studies or specialized creative writing programs.
