As an anthropologist, you explore the concept of personhood across Canada and globally. Through methodical examination of cultural practices in various societies, you'll recognize how many things we consider innate are actually shaped by our cultural context.

When you learn that family structures, artistic expressions, political systems, and economic models can vary widely, your understanding of human identity broadens. Our curriculum allows you to analyze personal identity, engage with cross-cultural research initiatives, and apply anthropological approaches to diverse regions - from African communities to Middle Eastern societies or Caribbean nations - and subjects ranging from healthcare systems to gender studies or mythological traditions.

We're recognized for fostering student involvement in research at local, national, and global levels. You'll develop independent projects while also collaborating on faculty-led research. Anthropology cultivates analytical abilities that prepare you for thoughtful decision-making in any career path. The Co-op program enables high-achieving students to transition between academic and professional environments through paid work placements. Co-op participants graduate with enhanced job-seeking capabilities, refined interpersonal skills, and valuable work experience equivalent to one year in the field.
