An Associate Degree covers the initial two years of a four-year bachelor's program. In British Columbia, universities automatically grant 60 transfer credits to students who complete an Associate Degree, provided they meet each institution's specified grade point average (GPA) requirements. Graduates become eligible to apply for Canada's post-graduate work permit.
The Associate of Arts Degree in Communication introduces students to critical perspectives on media and technology within historical and cultural frameworks. This program serves as a foundation for advancing to a Bachelor's degree in Communication or similar disciplines. Participants will examine and evaluate different aspects of communication, developing proficiency in media and information technologies. The curriculum covers diverse communication fields including advertising, cultural industries, information technology, media history, digital media, political economy, and television studies.
