Focused on the intersection of law and societal change, this interdisciplinary MA program offers students an opportunity to cultivate a thorough, analytical perspective on legal systems. It examines how individuals interact with and contest legal frameworks, evolving regulatory approaches, and the connections between law, national identity, citizenship, and inclusion. Students engage with active research initiatives and seminar programs hosted by the Department of Law and Legal Studies, such as the Jurisprudence Center and Graduate Culture Seminar.

As Canada's inaugural program of its kind, Carleton University's collaborative PhD with a Specialization in African Studies caters to master's graduates in humanities and social sciences. Through cross-disciplinary research, it enables scholars to enhance their specialized knowledge while gaining substantial expertise in African Studies.

The collaborative master's program with an African Studies Specialization is tailored for Carleton University graduate students enrolled in participating programs across Arts and Social Science, Public Affairs, and the Sprott School of Business. It provides interdisciplinary engagement to broaden their academic foundation with specialized knowledge in African Studies.
