Psychologists investigate the processes that shape our thoughts, feelings, and actions. They explore various subjects, including cognition and learning, social interactions, and strategies for fostering healthy growth and wellness. Through research, they acquire insights that deepen our understanding of the human psyche, improve quality of life and performance, and inspire further scientific inquiry.
Our undergraduate Psychology programs allow students to examine psychology's core disciplines within a vibrant, research-rich setting. Students can specialize in Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, or SocialPersonality Psychology, with an additional focus available in Mental Health and Well-Being. Additionally, all Carleton students can pursue our Certificate in Multidisciplinary Studies in Mental Health and Well-Being.
The knowledge you acquire through psychology studies will prove valuable across your lifetime, applicable to nearly any profession.
Psychology is also available as a Bachelor of Science degree. Although both the BA and BSc programs share identical psychology coursework, their elective options let you emphasize either social sciences and humanities (such as linguistics, sociology, and anthropology) or natural sciences (including biology, health sciences, and neuroscience).
