Psychologists investigate the processes that shape our thoughts, feelings, and actions. They explore various subjects, including cognition and learning, social interactions, and strategies for fostering personal growth and wellness. Through rigorous research, they acquire insights that deepen our understanding of the human psyche, improve quality of life and productivity, and inspire further scientific inquiry.
Our undergraduate Psychology programs allow students to examine key psychological disciplines within a vibrant, research-rich setting. Students can specialize in Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, or Social-Personality Psychology, along with a Mental Health and Well-Being track. Additionally, all Carleton students have the option to pursue a Certificate in Multidisciplinary Studies in Mental Health and Well-Being.
The knowledge you acquire through psychology studies will prove valuable across your lifetime, applicable to nearly any profession.
Psychology is also available as a Bachelor of Science degree. Although both the BA and BSc programs share identical psychology coursework, their elective options let you emphasize either social sciences and humanities (such as linguistics, sociology, and anthropology) or natural sciences (including biology, health sciences, and neuroscience).
