Capilano University's Bachelor of Music Therapy program connects you with leading Canadian educators, equipping you with the expertise to launch your professional music therapy career.
As a future music therapist, you'll discover how to harness music's power to create meaningful change across diverse environments - from supporting autistic children to assisting adults with mental health conditions and seniors experiencing dementia.
Your specialized music therapy education starts in year three, with the initial two years building foundational knowledge in music, psychology, and related disciplines.
Throughout the program, you'll expand your capabilities through comprehensive training in music theory, aural skills, vocal sight-reading, historical studies of music and jazz, creative improvisation, therapeutic communication techniques, psychological principles, and the role of creative arts in healing.

PTE (Pearson Test of English - Academic): 56
DET (Duolingo English Test) - 125 or higher with no sub-score less than 115.
