The Bachelor of Early Childhood Care & Education provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical and practical courses focused on the early years, incorporating current research and educational theories.
Three fundamental themes run through the program: curriculum development, understanding childhood, and leadership with advocacy.

Program objectives
Apply teaching methods aligned with modern theories of learning, cognition, and instruction in early childhood education.
Collaborate effectively with children, families, peers, and communities to deliver meaningful and adaptive care and educational programs.
Implement ethical teaching approaches that show awareness of both local and global concerns in early childhood education.
Demonstrate teaching proficiency meeting the standards for Early Childhood Educator certification and employment in British Columbia.
High school graduation
A minimum grade point average of 2.0 (60%) calculated on English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12 and three academic Grade 12 courses
Admissions preference may be given to students with Literary Studies 12 as one of the three academic Grade 12 courses
English Language Requirements:
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): 83 (internet-based score), 560 (paper-based score).
ELA (English Language Assessment Test): 145
Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5 overall and no one scores less than 6
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment Test): 70
PTE (Pearson Test of English - Academic): 56
DET (Duolingo English Test) - 125 or higher with no sub-score less than 115.
