The study of human motion and physical performance. Train to become an expert in fitness instruction and wellness education. This two-year kinesiology curriculum covers exercise science fundamentals, workout methodologies, body physiology, fitness assessment and programming, dietary science, wellness advocacy, life coaching, stress reduction, human development, and behavioral modification. For those passionate about promoting active living and wellbeing, Kinesiology offers rewarding career opportunities.
Graduates will be qualified to create and deliver customized workout regimens and wellness education as certified fitness instructors or related professionals. The program explores the biological, psychological, and mechanical principles behind physical conditioning and movement instruction that foster healthy habits. Our Kinesiology courses are primarily held at Interurban campus, with select classes utilizing outdoor environments and community partnerships. Students actively participate in the Centre for Sport & Exercise Education (CSEE) throughout their studies.
High school graduation or be 19 years old on the first day of classes.
English proficiency (one of):
BC high school English 12 or English Studies 12 or equivalent with final grade of C+ or better
IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 overall (no sub-score less than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT score of 78 overall (no sub-score less than 19)
PTE Academic score of 54 overall (no sub-score less than 50)
Cambridge Assessment of English: C1 Advanced score of 174 overall (no sub-score less than 169)
CAEL CE score of 60 overall (no sub-score less than 60)
GTEC CBT score of 1200 overall (minimum sub-scores: Reading 325; Writing 270; Speaking 260; Listening 335)
