Our institution boasts state-of-the-art equipment that leads the industry. Unlike many schools that restrict new technology primarily to research purposes, Brock utilizes all facilities for both education and investigative work. This dedication to experiential education produces exceptionally capable science graduates. As a student, you'll actively contribute to our research initiatives through specialized courses and compensated summer projects, potentially even collaborating on published works.
Our curriculum emphasizes fundamental chemical concepts and practical application across organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and theoretical chemistry, with particular focus on interdisciplinary areas like bio-inorganic/organic chemistry and chemical biophysics. Faculty research explores diverse areas including: innovative chiral ligand development, organometallic compounds, asymmetric synthesis techniques, sustainable chemistry approaches, protein interaction studies, and anticancer drug analysis. Additional specialties encompass molecular material design through crystal engineering, novel ligand structures for main-group elements, cutting-edge spectroscopic techniques, nanomaterial fabrication, organic substance analysis, and environmental contaminant detection. Theoretical investigations concentrate on electron transfer mechanisms within photosynthetic proteins.
