Our institution boasts state-of-the-art equipment that leads the industry. Unlike many schools that restrict new equipment solely for research purposes, Brock's facilities serve dual roles in both education and research. This hands-on approach ensures our graduates emerge as highly competent scientists. As a student, you'll actively contribute to research initiatives through specialized courses and paid summer positions, with potential opportunities to co-author published work.
Our curriculum emphasizes fundamental chemical concepts and practical applications across organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and theoretical chemistry. We particularly focus on interdisciplinary areas like bio-inorganic chemistry, bio-organic chemistry, and chemical biophysics. Faculty research explores diverse areas including chiral ligand development, organometallic reagents, asymmetric synthesis techniques, and sustainable chemistry practices. Additional specialties include protein studies, anticancer drug research, molecular material design, advanced spectroscopy, nanomaterial development, and environmental contaminant analysis. Theoretical investigations concentrate on energy transfer mechanisms within photosynthetic proteins.
