The Studies in Arts and Culture (STAC) program invites students to examine contemporary culture through hands-on, practical learning while developing critical perspectives.
Our bachelor's programs offer focused training in arts administration, interdisciplinary media studies, and cultural analysis. STAC bridges disciplines by connecting students and professors from Visual Arts, Theater, Music, Communications, Popular Culture and Film (CPCF), Modern Languages, Literature, and Cultural Studies, along with the Goodman School of Business, through diverse courses and cultural programming. Throughout the program, STAC students cultivate essential professional competencies including innovative thinking, articulate expression, cultural awareness, collaboration, flexibility, and perseverance.
STAC houses both the Research Centre in Interdisciplinary Arts and Creative Culture and Small Walker Press, which produces collaborative publications featuring creators from the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts alongside national and international contributors.
