Our careers shape how we spend much of our daily lives, influencing our social standing, financial stability, and personal identity. They also mold the fabric of our communities and economic systems, as these are built upon the collective efforts of workers. Workforce transformations, technological advancements, skill evolution, shifting employment laws, job market divisions, gender equality in employment, and women's roles in the workplace are key topics driving academic exploration in the Department of Labour Studies.
As an interdisciplinary discipline, Labour Studies offers engaging classes such as Sports Industry Labor, Workplace Legislation, Animal Labor, and our hands-on Negotiation Simulation course.
The program blends conceptual learning with practical applications, equipping students for diverse professional paths in industrial relations, employee development, government policy, and social activism.
Students can opt for a specialized Labour Studies program or combine it with complementary majors like Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, Economics, or Gender Studies.
