The Honours Critical Criminology program enables students to thoroughly analyze how 'law and order' ideologies, policies, and control mechanisms serve specific societal interests. This specialized degree presents a unique perspective on legislation, violations, enforcement, and societal responses.
Participants will investigate broader themes beyond conventional crime and punishment, including monitoring systems, legal marginalization, various forms of violence, and related social issues. The Honours BA in Critical Criminology situates criminological studies within frameworks of justice and equality – a significant differentiation both academically and within the Social Sciences discipline.
Graduates will emerge with sophisticated theoretical and methodological expertise, combined with hands-on experience, preparing them for leadership roles in legal fields, policy development, analytical research, and public oversight sectors.
