The Child and Youth Studies Department (CHYS) provides four-year Honours BA and Major BA programs, a three-year BA Pass degree, and a combined BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary-Junior) program. These interdisciplinary programs examine children and youth through both theoretical and practical lenses, considering cultural, economic, legal, familial, educational, peer, and community contexts. Drawing from psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminology, education, and cultural studies, our academic approach synthesizes diverse methodologies to foster a holistic comprehension of childhood and youth development.
