The Automotive Service Technician and Operations Non-Co-op Option is designed for international students who:

Seek to obtain a two-year apprenticeship technical training Diploma to enter the automotive service and repair sector.
Aim to pursue careers as managers, supervisors, service advisors, or parts specialists in the automotive service industry.
Wish to use the diploma as a stepping stone toward earning a bachelor's degree.
This Non-Co-op version of the program offers international students extra hands-on workshop training at BCIT, focusing on technical skills, English language development, and practical experience.

Upon completion, graduates will be able to:

Combine and implement theoretical knowledge when diagnosing, servicing, and fixing automotive systems.
Utilize research methods to find automotive service information.
Incorporate sustainability principles into their work within the automotive service field.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet all entrance requirements and will be accepted on a first qualified basis as long as space remains. If you are uncertain or don’t meet the requirements, we strongly recommend you complete any applicable Trades Entry Assessments before applying. English language proficiency: one of the following: Category 3 – English Studies 12 (50%) or equivalent or BCIT English Trades Entry Assessment Math: one of the following: Pre-Calculus 11 (50%) or Foundations of Math 11 (50%) or Workplace Math 11 (50%) or Other acceptable BC and Yukon courses or BCIT Math Trades Entry Assessment BCIT Mechanical Reasoning Trades Entry Assessment IELTS Academic - Overall score 6.0 No band less than 5.0. TOEFL (iBT) - Overall score 82 No section score less than 19.
