The current demand for qualified security technicians has reached unprecedented levels.
Students completing the Security Systems Technician (SST) program gain expertise in installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and evaluating various security equipment including burglar alarms, surveillance cameras, access control systems, and smart home technologies.
These professionals primarily handle low-voltage systems below 30 volts, utilizing specialized installation and diagnostic equipment. The curriculum emphasizes safe work practices with 12-volt systems, standard electrical circuits, TCP/IP networks, telephone systems, and other relevant technologies.
