Architectural Science serves as a connection between design principles and construction technology. This degree program aims to cultivate graduates possessing practical expertise while fostering comprehensive and analytical thinking where living systems, culture, and technology converge, preparing students to enter the workforce as professionals in sustainable design and construction.
The Bachelor in Architectural Science is a rigorous two-year full-time program built upon a two-year architectural technology diploma (such as BCIT ABT or equivalent). It offers a wide-ranging, technically updated curriculum covering both theoretical and practical aspects of architectural science. The teaching approach follows a structured progression of critical thinking, using a deliberate framework of advancement, evaluation, and reinforcement to embed sustainable principles across all core courses.
Students will engage in studio projects that grow in scope and difficulty, culminating in a Graduating Project—an integrated building design that combines architectural creativity with performance efficiency, guided by industry specialists. The curriculum includes cultural history, material studies, project management, building science, and communication skills, all woven into cohesive design solutions that balance social responsibility with technical proficiency. Additionally, students will complete general education courses in Liberal Studies and Business, along with selected professional electives to fulfill their degree requirements.
